EVERY COMMANDMENT OF SCRIPTURES IS FOR OUR PROFITING

"And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)

The commands and instructions from God are for our profiting and lifting

If you obey God, He separates you from all the happenings on earth and sets you above nations, in your field or profession.

Obedience is also the only way to prove the validity of a scripture. It is not enough to know the word but very important to obey.

Doing what the word commands is the only way of committing God to confirm His word because as shocking as it may sound, truth is, God responds faster to our obedience than our prayers (John 2:4-8).

Obedience delivers sweatlessly (John 9:1-7) and it is the gateway to audible but noiseless breakthroughs. We may all desire the top but, it is not everyone of us that is ready to do the things which will take us to the top.

You need to know that God has nothing to gain from our obedience. Consider the example of the disciples in Luke 5:4-5; they obeyed in scarcity and abundance came. In our obedience we must not be selective, we must do all that God commands. Sometimes, the things He asks of us may seem senseless, as was the cas with Naaman in 2nd Kings 5:10-15 but, we are required to obey all the same.

However, obeying is one thing and knowing what to obey is another. This is where knowledge comes in, because you need knowledge to recognize the commandments to obey.

A cheap way to destroy any nation or community is to deny them of knowledge, as Hosea 4:6 explains, "My people perish for lack of knowledge."

So, knowledge of God (spiritual knowledge) is required to fulfil destiny or take charge spiritually.

Profitable Commandments of God

  1. The Kingdom-first Commandment

The kingdom of God is the overriding priority and designed to make us commanders in life. In Matthew 6:32-33, the bible says, "For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you

If you serve God, you will obey Him and that is a key to becoming number one in any field or pursuit in life (Mark 5:13-14).

If you are not working for the kingdom, do not expect the kingdom to take care of you because you can only truly experience a change of level, if you work for the kingdom.

The Kingdom of God is the Centre of life.

Kingdom priority must be a lifestyle. Put the kingdom first before your business. Remember that as Christ's ambassador, you  represent him wherever you are; your office, school, place of business etc. Whatever you do, know that it is not only about you but about God's kingdom. You are top when you place His kingdom top. Psalms 103:19 reiterates that Jehovah has prepared his throne in heaven and that His kingdom rules over all. When the kingdom is number one you cannot be last (Daniel 4:7, Luke 22:26-27).

The supply and abundance of many have been cut off because of their 'sit tight' behavior. From Jeremiah 30:21 we understand that our rising is determined by our usefulness to God, which is determined by our service to the Kingdom. (2nd Chronicles 15:2-12 & 15)

The kingdom should be the centre of our life and when the centre is okay, everything around you falls in place. To Peter it was over but his obedience to the command of the Lord Jesus reopened his case and ushered him into abundance.

Henceforth, let us all live, not only for ourselves, but for others (2nd Corinthians 5:15, Isaiah 43:21, Matthew 5:16 and Philippians 1:21).

We can also become kingdom-oriented when we pray for others. Centering your prayers around yourself keeps you in the category of children. Serving God may be demanding but it is rewarding. Make God the centre of attention in your life and He will make you centre of attraction to your world.

Entering into covenant with God can be done by:

1) Praying for the Kingdom. Our model prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 begins with, "Our father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come...." Make kingdom advancement prayer a priority. Praying for the kingdom is an investment and your labour in prayers for kingdom advancement will never go in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58, Colossians 5:12). In 1st Kings 3:5-13, Solomon, who had been given a blank check by God asked instead for wisdom to rule God's children. His selflessness in prayer pleased God so much that God gave him much more than he requested.  .

2) Soul-Winning: "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you" -  John 15:16. As followers of christ, we have been given the ministry of reconciliation; bringing people into the kingdom is our major assignment. (Matthew 28:18-20,  Mark 16:15-17)

3) Involvement in Financial Projects. Have a monthly kingdom budget. Life is a gift and the only way it can be meaningful is to give it back to the giver. In Haggai 1:2-11 the Almighty told Zerubbabel the governor, through prophet Haggai that refusal to invest in His house was the reason for the catalogue of problems they faced. It follows that investing in the Kingdom attracts the opposite of problems.

Receive the grace to always put the Kingdom first, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Remain Ever Blessed

Jesus is Lord!
